Morning weights.

Early-morning
weights to make
the blood sing.

Quiet and
still, the air
begs to be
riven by
plate on plate.

Yoga if
it moves you,
or running;
the cold swim;
writing That
Thing which lurks
in shadows
of hurly-
burly days.

Pray, sip, think;
meditate,
prostrate your
Self to some
Thing larger—
or beyond.

Early morning
waits to make.
